The Undernet has taken the step of banning all non-idented clients from Videotron due to the large amount of abuse from this ISP. The ban was agreed between the Undernet and Videotron after discussions took place to look at abuse. Videotron say they are looking at ways to reduce abuse and agreed a ban on non idented clients would suit both sides until they had found a solution. If you are a Videotron user effected by this there are a few things you can do. If you use mIRC as chat client please type /identd on and reconnect to the irc server. If you run your own Linux box or have a shell account on the videotron network you will need to have identd installed on your box. If you are not the Administrator of the box, have your administrator do it for you. If you connect to the Undernet using Java chat you will need to install an identd server on your machine separately.
If you are still unable to ident your client please contact your ISP.
