No, i still see no need of that, but everyone has it's opinion nothing i can do to change...but remember if you want realy bad a picture under your user and it's not in the catalog for avatars, you can e-mail the webmasters and have your avatar added to the requests part, as you can see already some 4 or 5 are costum for users...why not do that then bothering the webmasters who probably have other things to do, then to enable uploading wich can bring other problems...

Best Wishes,

Razvanet is right. Besides, there are ALWAYS users that with to change their avatar every other day. I know this from personal experience.

Personally, I think you have shown us a perfect example of a signature that should not be allowed in a forum. Forums are for exchange of ideas, not artwork. The above signature is larger than the entire message, it seems to be 2 signatures for one person, and it spams. I could add more, but I think you all 'get the picture.'

Thanks evi|one for disabling the sig mentioned in this post. :)

Yes, I totally agree. As if one big animated signature wasn't enough, a second, huge one has obviously beed added. As puterfixer said in the above posts, you can just have a few lines of text saying what you want to say. When a signature exceeds the size of the actual text, something needs to be done. Kahr used to have a nice one line text signature before... I don't see how that was bad.
In any case, signature size should NEVER exceed the post size. And if you have a small signature and an even smaller post, then you need to think if that post should be there in the first place.

I'd have to say the key word there, Bay, is think. Not exactly the first word that comes to mind with a large percentage of users out there...

It gives me great pleasure to announce that members can now have their custom avatars, either uploaded on the server or linked from other websites. You can do this by editing your Profile (see the link on top of each forum page, or click here). They are limited to 80 by 80 pixels. If you create your own, save them as .gif .jpg and .png and use the one which is smaller in size.

Images in signatures remain active.

Please don't abuse the priviledges of having custom avatars and image signatures! Don't use offensive or annoying images, don't use huge images for signatures - try to make them as small as possible, so they don't disrupt the flow of the discussions. Breaking these limits of common sense and respect to the others will result either in your signature/avatar being changed, losing the right to have a custom signature/avatar, or having them disabled again. Thank you for your consideration, have fun! :)

Is for example 100x600 a good size? (100 is the height, with 600 as the width. I am not sure whether or not the width of the image really matters that much, as long as it does not exceed the size of the actually webpage (THAT is very annoying, indeed)).

I am merely trying to see how big I might just have it not to get bashed at here. :P

I've just started working with Photoshop, and I am eager to show off my 3l33t design skillz to the world. 8) Therefore I can probably create even smaller signatures, but I still need to know what people think should be the max height VS width.

468x60 is the size of a normal banner, and even that is a bit too large for a signature, imho. Look at evi|one's signature: small (300x50) and well done.

Yes, actually, that was pretty good. But I decided not to use any images here in this forum for now. Perhaps I will create something small at a later time. Thanks.

Not too bad, Razvanet. Perhaps I should try to make something like that instead... :D
