I did research it, and didn't find a specific thread, which is why I started this one, but thanks.

NickName registrations will stop think like these: `Dan is roots@pulea.users.undernet.org * Muist `Dan using *.undernet.org The Undernet Underworld `Dan is away: 4<3`Dan4> 7Sunt Un Mare Mare Sclav (Away since 11:00 pm Tue Jan 29) `Dan is logged in as pulea `Dan End of /WHOIS list. Let me translate that away message.. "<`Dan> I am a big slave ..[]" Srvx supports both nickname and username registrations and on sourceforge doesn't creates asny "confusions". Every user can have 1 registered nick.

ok, just to clarify for those that still don't get it.
It's not a matter of if Undernet should or shouldn't do nickname registration, Undernet actually doesn't want nickname registration (see the aforementioned other topics).
So in short you can suggest this idea all you like, Undernet does not want it.
Just thought I'd add my 2 cents worth.

No offence but it should be what users want to be on undernet (users are making the network not the network making users) But we can understand , it's like in a country .. peoples from that country are requesting something from management (president / mayor) and they get nothing Now i must appologize for my bad english but i'm sleepy

This is similar to opensource, copyrighted operating sistems.
Consider nickserv, srvx, unreal microsoft crap, and ircu, gnuworld unix based open-source os's.
Some like windows, some like linux. You can never please everyone.
This argument is useless and has been overdisccused.
IT WON'T HAPPEN.

IRC op's, CService, and literally every OFFICIAL help channel/service/whatever on/of Undernet, will tell you, the users are all Guest's here, so "(users are making the network not the network making users)", annoyingly doesn't apply, we (yes even I am a guest) don't make the network, the server admin's and the ISP's willing to host and sponsor a server do, they provide the servers for us to connect to, they provide the links between the servers, they allowed the Undernet Users Committee to set up this forum and website, so when it comes to decisions like does Undernet want nickname registration, they get to decide. The best we can do is make suggestions, nickname registration has been suggested to death, and they have rejected it consistently and unanimously. There is no single person at the top, there is however a committee at the top of Undernet's political structure, that committee is known as the Undernet Server Administrators Committee, I as Co-ordinator of Undernet's Channel Services Committee (CService), report to them directly, however I have no say in what they do, and they (collectively) can overrule anything involving CService, this applies to all of Undernet's committees.
