Romania and Asia are the top spammers for me, next comes smaller asian countries, then usa, canada.

By far from the previous 5 years i would say romania creats the most spam, then philippines.

Both are about 50/50

1 Little interesting note, Romania's entire country was banned from 4 different IRC servers by Dalnet, Efnet, Quakenet due to spam..

this is coming off yearly logs in the MOTD.

So i cant really say those network admins would lie just to make romania look bad, like every country, 1-2 good apples, whole lot of bad ones.

Best you can do is log the spam and report it.

You can NOT blame Romanian or American people for spamming, spams, even if those which cames via mail or via irc protocol are in 99% of cases made automaticaly by malware components/programs which infects computers with a windows-based operating system installed and NOT secured.
If you want a map with locations where from cames the most infections read visit the following link: http://www.trendmicro.com/map/

If you want to learn much better how to stay secured, safe and clean
I wrote for you on http://dmsetup.net/files/article.txt some informations.

Enjoy Undernet.
