Hello,

I am a greek and i reseved query messages all the time of greeks who want help and they ask me to join #cservice or any other help channel to ask there a problem of theirs because they don't know enlish. I would like to know how to start an official help channel that uses only one language.

Thanks,
AbYsS^M

The number of help channels on undernet has reached reached impressive levels..Rather than starting your own help channel, why not help in an already established channel? Having troubles in finding one , pick one from here : http://www.user-com.undernet.org/newsle ... .html#help

Choose the one u like, and start helping users (do not forget to ask , from a channel op, the rules). U do not need to be manager to be able to give good, solid help to users.

Creating help channels...hmm...not that i would want to dissapoint u abyss, but many have tried..very few have succeded in creating a help channel that is a littl` active in helping.. It`s not a bad ideea starting a greek help channel..i don't think there are so many help chans in greek..but the problem is getting the channel known...so u`ll have some "customers" to assist..i wish u good luck starting this channel but CService doesn't make official channs anymore.. :-? It`s better to assist in greek in #cservice ..just that i don't really know any admin/official that speaks greek :devious: ..ehh...it would be nice if u`re greek friends would learn english :) it`s the most spoken language on earth for God sakes.. :P
Regards,

Well, let me guys remember you that #Cservice is the ONLY official channel, the others, like #Zt or #Help, for example, are just accepted.

It is accepted and recommended for help, but the first and only official channel in Undernet is #Cservice. Trust me, I know what I'm saying :)

Kaac you are wrong...if i`m right you used to help on #cservice...Well the Channel Service Committee has the custom to say that they are the only official help channel but that`s their problem.....They are not the only committee on undernet....there arev 3 committees and 7 sub-committees if i`m not wrong.....

Well every committtee has it`s official channel egz:CSC has #cservice #usernames etc
User Committee has #user-com, #userguide and #class
These from the U-C`s point of view are official channels....so is more than one official channels on undernet as Cservice isn`t the only Committee on undernet. CSC can`t decide on its own which is official and which is not....They can help a channel become official by seting Special mode on, for that channel. this won`t allow anyone who isn`t a CSC member or has access on the channel to view the access list of a channel with special on. But from that point of view #cservice does not have special mode on so it`s not official itself...

Try to view all the sides of the problem Kaac...don`t be too sure on yourself.....not all of us believe every damn thing CSC members say...don`t be so naive.....
