If you started to explain Kaac explain the whole thing....If you said what is the identd tell him how to set the ident.
It`s quite easy the identd is the part of the user the server checks for when the users tries to connect to the server:
Egz-bucharest.ro.eu.undernet.org- *** Checking Ident
The server will request from you an identd (as Kaac explained that is the word you put in the Options/Connect/Email adress(before you set your nickname)
* Identd request from 62.231.74.10
* Identd replied: 1222, 6660 : USERID : UNIX : identd
The first like line show you that the server in this case 62.231.74.10 bucharest.ro.eu.undernet.org requests an identd from your client(mirc)
The second line is the response from your client to the server.
So that`s kinda it with the identd. It`s a piece of information used to connect to the server.
The identd is kinda important, as you can ban a certain identd and all the users who try to join a channel and match the identd banned on the channel are not able to join it.
Also eggdrops, bots can recognise a user by his identd.... So it`s important...
There are 2 ways to set the identd
1:From Options/Connect/Email Adress
in order for that to work try putting an @ after the identd. So when you type something in the Email Adress blank put something lilke ident@(instead of identd you can type whatever you want)
2:From Options/Identd/User ID
*Note if the Enable Identd Server box from the Options/Identd is ticked on then your identd will the the one set in the Options/Identd/User ID and not the one from Options/Connect/Email Adress
If you want to read detailed info about the identd check the web Tommytee gave you!
