I've been back on the network for a while now and what do i see:
ClassTime : Comitetul Userilor Undernet prezinta un #class . Pentru mai multe informatii , apelati tutorii dvs.
Excuse me... i'm on Lelystad.NL,
Why the **** do i wanna read a foreign language that i do not understand?
I don't need this crap, can't they keep it in English? It's like whole Undernet turns romanian.
(no offense to others incase they start taking it personally)

I guess that's something you should ask magic, the chann manager.
I've joined there for a few moments by curiosity, and indeed i saw them talking in .ro mostly. Even if i share the same nationality with them, i feel it's not fair for the other foreign users, and would definitly input an english only rule, but hey

Well it's probably because the class was strictly a romanian class, not for foreigners.

Then if it is strictly for romanians, why are these notifications sent globally?
(and how come this thread is in UUC and not Undernet Feedback *shrugs*)

Because #Class is a UUC project.

The english class is done very often.
I don't quite understand the complaint, since the spanish classes have gone more often then the romanians one did, and also the romanian users represent by what I see, and others tell about 40% of the Undernet, standalone.
It's not the "Undernet goes romanian" but I think it is necesary from time to time, to get classes in romanian too.
Not all romanians understand english, and I bet the same for all the dutch people.

I'm a #class member, let me explain:
We have all kind of classes, such as:
- beginners (what is undernet and what can you do)
- advanced (how to protect your channel and other stuff)
- netiquette (how to act on irc)
- security (how to protect yourself)
- live q-a (users can ask any question, a team answers)
- chanfix (info about undernet's feature "C")
All of these classes are being held weekly (or more) and is available in English, Spanish and Romanian.
You saw the global notice for the Romanian class. Why is that notice global? Simply to reach as many romanians possible, since not all romanians are connected to bucharest.ro.*, or to one other server in particular.
If you have any other questions, tomorrow (saturday) around 9 pm (for the netherlands), we are having a LIVE Q-A class. Ask your questions there and get an answer the very moment by a team of pro's.
Enjoy Undernet

I have an idea!
Since Undernet is English by default, (this forum is English, for example) how about having the Announcements in the language the class will be, along with an English translation!
Will everyone be happy then?

Hey, got more to add:
nocturnal stated: Quote: We have all kind of classes, such as: - beginners (what is undernet and what can you do) - advanced (how to protect your channel and other stuff) - netiquette (how to act on irc) - security (how to protect yourself) - live q-a (users can ask any question, a team answers) - chanfix (info about undernet's feature "C")
um.. has there EVER been a chanfix class? I have never seen that announced.
And what happened to the mIRC class?
Just asking,
Eenie

chanfix class was held somewhere in 2006, but seems it went to the background. The class was kinda out of date, so it needed an update.
I updated the class this week, and will be used very soon again!

Well, I'm not a #Class member (though I am a user-com member), but I will say this.
I believe their should be classes in, but not limited to the following langauges:
- English
- Norwegian
- Romanian
- Spanish
- French
I think the tutorials should be written up in english, and tossed to the translation team so it can be translated in to the class session's langauge.
But hey, that's just me. (:

As far as I am aware, classes for romanian, spanish and english exist, and I am not sure about the french.
Since now, nobody as a representative of class asked for the documents translated in other languages, but if that starts up it will be rolling too very soon.
We're awaiting for the website tough, a lot of things to do there too, even need to extend the team at "basic" languages so we can fit the schedule (let's not forget we get daily translation jobs too)
A Chanfix class was presented Friday, 21.09 at about 1:00 AM as I noticed (GMT+2)

Hmm, I don't see where's the problem in global noticing for romanian users, what about spanish class? or English? so why the hell should I recieve spanish or english global notices?
If you will code and get implemented a module for passing the "users.undernet.org" hosts and notice just the users from a region you like, maybe you all will be happy.
Thanks,
