if you're on IRC you can type /list #channelname ( you can specify the channel you want to see in the list )

Cheers!

hello , this is not related to cservice - next time be carefull where you open a new topic.

Anyway , there are some servers that don't require identd , you can see a list on Undernet's servers here : http://help.undernet.org/faq.php?what=serverlist , try them until you find a good one.

If you want to install identd and not to get that error again you need to open port 113 in any router or firewall you have. For more info see http://help.undernet.org/faq.php?what=top20#19

Thanx and good luck.

You ment probably that you could not join channel because it was set +r. The only way to fix this is to get yourself a registered username.
To do so see: http://cservice.undernet.org/live , click on register, be sure to read completelly and complete that form.
We recommand providing an ISP e-mail there, that way, your mail can not be hacked and loose control over it and over your username.
Than, after your username is registered, you got your password, join irc and login to X using /msg x@channels.undernet.org login <username> <password> , change <username> and <password> with your username and password.
If there is any step you get stuck at try to join #usernames and ask for help there.

this is actually a general irc question, not a CService one. topic moved.

Note: /list can be used, but it wont list all 48000 channels, as you would be disconnected from irc before it got 10000 done, you can type /list help (or /quote list help since some irc clients like to control it) and get what the servers will accept.

ie /list >500 will list all channel with at least 500 users in it.
