What you have to do in order to hide your ip or local host is:

Login to X by typing:

/msg X@channels.undernet.org login username password

Then type:

/mode your_nick +X

Your host or IP will change in: ident@user.users.undernet.org

Regards,

Hey anic

First of all login with your username by typing /msg X@channels.undernet.org login your-username password-here
After that type /mode your-nickname +x

You firstly need to be registered to CService to be able to use usermode +x. To register yourself, go to http://cservice.undernet.org/live and select the 'Register!' link, in the left of your screen. It is advised that you use the e-mail address given to your by your ISP for registration. After registering an username (and changing your password you can actually remember, by using http://cservice.undernet.org/'s web interface), login to X - /msg x@channels.undernet.org login <username> <password> - and type /mode <your-nick> +x OR //mode $me +x

I think this topic should be moved to 'Channel Service help'.

It still does not work guys!!!!!!
What am i doing wrong?
First after connecting to an undernet server i typed :
/msg X@channels.undernet.org login "username password"

then i got the reply :
[16:53] -> *x@channels.undernet.org* login "username password"

then i typed :

/mode "your_nick" +X
whit no reply, and when i do a whois on my "your_nick" i still see my ip-number!!!!!
ps :i have registered to CService a few weeks ago

Even if +x it's activated for your user if you do a /whois on yourself you will see you real host...so if you want to know if your host can be seen by others just ask a fraind to do a whois on you and ask him what he gets...and by the way after you do /mode nick +x you should get a notice like @user.users.undernet.org is now your hidden host !

Regards,

Anic, pay attention please.
Firstly login into X by typing /msg X@channels.undernet.org login your-username-here password-here (but X might be lagged, type the command and have patience). Secondly type /mode your-current-nickname +x (Note: use '+x' instead of '+X'). For example your nickname is 'Anic'.. type /mode Anic +x
Only you can see your real ip/host.. others can't.

Anic, think about it: what would be the point in hiding your own information from yourself?

Once X says your are logged in, the usermode +x will take affect. You can actually set the mode prior to logging into X, it doesn't matter. When the usermode switches, you will see a message in your status window reading "Virtual host: yourusername.users.undernet.org". At that point, only you, CService Admin and IRCops can view your actual info.

There are a lot of products and solutions available on the internet which allows you to change your IP address.

You can try using allanonymity.com product IP Hider (http://www.allanonymity.com/ip-hider-hide-ip-software) or Invisible Browsing to change and hide your IP address. It successfully worked for me :D
